The photographs relate to a court case between the Employment Agent's Federation and the County Council. The case contested the Council's right to cap the salary of private nurses engaged through the agencies. The Council lost the case and had to pay the 125 guineas cost of the trial. Two of the photographs were taken by in-house photographer A.J. Tanner; the other was sourced from Keystone Photos art library.
