Photographs of Matron M. P. Aberg

Made:
1947-1949
maker:
The Daily Herald

The photographs relate to the test case between the London County Council and the London Employment Agents Federation contesting the right of the Council to cap nurses' salaries. The Federation won. The subject and her sister were later brought to trial on two separate accounts: only her sister, Donna (see HER/1/1/2/1/104) was found guilty. Two of the photographs were taken by in-house photographer D.H. Jones. The other photographs were sourced from various press agencies. There is a note on the subject of the successful suit against the London County Council redirecting to Matron L.D. Aberg.
