Correspondence from Robert Stephenson to Samuel Smiles
maker:
Stephenson, Robert

Letter starts with 'Dear Smiles, When my father moved from Killingworth he did not go to Darlington but Newcastle.' Also mentions the kite experiment and insulating the copper wire with silk cord.

Half of the paper ripped off leaving only partial address visible on the reverse side, most likely 34 Glo[ucester Square]. Later annotation by pencil '18 Sept'57' by possibly a different hand.
