Collection of vintage positive and original negative films made using the Lee and Turner sequential-frame three-colour process, 1901-1904, together with modern preservation 35mm fine grain positive and negative films, digital hard drive and 35mm preservation colour print made in 2012.
This process was patented in 1899 (BP 6202) by Frederick Marshall Lee and Raymond Edward Turner. The films were made by the inventor of the process, Raymond Edward Turner (1873-1903) though there is a possibility that two were shot by George Albert Smith (1864-1959) who took over development of the process at the request of Charles Urban, Turner's final financial backer, following Turner's death.
