Advertised as “the mainstay of life”, Plasmon was a powdered milk protein drink diluted with water and sold as “the great brain and nerve food”. A bottle cost one shilling and was one of a number of tonics that could be brought ‘over the counter’ at local pharmacies.

Plasmon Ltd also created a recipe book - the 'Plasmon cookery book: dainty, nutritious and economical dishes for every household', undoubtedly using their health food products as ingredients.
