Painting, oil on canvas, Windermere by A J Wilson, about 1960. Depicts the cruise boat MV Swan from the perspective of a passenger, looking across Lake Windermere. The Swan is in the right foreground, but only part of the busy upper deck and bridge are visible. On the lake are three yachts and the MV Teal, another cruise boat. Beyond the lake are dense woods with mountains in the distance beneath a blue sky with white clouds. Below the illustration is text reading "Lake Windermere, English Lake District, Go by train". The word "train" is crossed out with "walk" pencilled in above the text. Above the main caption pencilled lines are blocked out for the typeface with the words "Monotype Perpetua Bold 461 as copy A". Original artwork for a British Railways London Midland Region poster, Visit Windermere, English Lake District, and go by train.
