Painting, oil on canvas, portrait, possibly of J Banker of the North Eastern Railway, by P James, 1896. Depicts a man with greying hair and beard, wearing a dark suit and black tie. He is seated in a chair, holding a red book with the words "North Eastern Railway" in gold letters on the cover. His arms rest on the arms of the chair. Alongside is a table with papers, books, one with "NER" on the spine, and writing implements. Unframed.
