Poster, London & North Eastern Railway, East Coast Craft, No 4, The Yorkshire Coble, by Frank Mason, about 1929. Depicts coble fishing boats on a beach with their masts lowered, and one at sea with sails raised, as fishermen mend crab and lobster pots. In the background is a wooden pier, probably intended to represent Whitby. Accompanying text reads "The type used along the coast from Flamborough to Whitby mainly for crab and line fishing - in summer for pleasure sailing" and "Visit Yorkshire, Ask for the Holiday Handbook at booksellers and L.N.E.R. agencies. Price 6d". Printed by Ben Johnson & Co Ltd, York. Format: double royal. Dimensions: 40 x 25 inches, 1016 x 635 mm.
