Poster, British Railways. Go by Train, Quick, Comfortable, Convenient, by John Ferguson, 1952. Coloured lithograph depicting a stylised view of a steam locomotive hauling a passenger train receding into the distance. Attached to the carriages are five luggage labels with the words "a day out?, exploring?, sightseeing?, visiting? 1¾d a mile or less". At bottom is the British Railways 'totem' logo. Text in the bottom margin reads "Published by the Railway Executive, 52/69, Printed by Ernest J Day & Co. Ltd., London, W1". Format double royal.
