Poster, London and North Eastern Railway, Berwick upon Tweed, It's Quicker by Rail, by Frank Mason, about 1928. Coloured lithograph depicting the River Tweed and the town of Berwick, in garish colours. In the foreground are a pink painted house and a quay, with a sailing vessel moored alongside. Beyond is the river, with the town on a hill in the background. To the left of the town are Berwick's three bridges, the 17th century Old Bridge, the Tweed Bridge of 1925 and the Royal Border Bridge with a passenger train steaming across it. In the distance are the hills of southern Scotland. Text beneath, including an advertisement for the town guide book. Text in bottom margin reads "Published by the London & North Eastern Railway. Printed in England. Vincent Brooks, Day & Sons Ltd. Lith. London. W.C.2." A pencil inscription at bottom left reads "252". Format: double royal. Dimensions: 40 x 25 inches, 1016 x 635mm.
