A McMichael model 512R 12 inch television receiver, made in Slough, England, c. 1951.

This receiver cost £109 six shillings and eleven pence when new and was designed to look more like a piece of furniture than a television set. It stood on ‘Queen Anne’ style legs and had doors that closed across the screen when it was not being watched.
