This STC RX1 triple-diversity independent side-band high-frequency radio receiver consists of a large three-rack radio receiver of the type made in the late 1940s and early 1950s. It was made by Standard Telephone & Cable Company Limited (STC) and usually sold for about £6000 complete at the time. The RX1 used radio valves and was very advanced radio technology of the time. This RX1 is a rare – possibly sole – and significant surviving example of an important range of STC radio receivers from the mid-twentieth century.
