Fowler cultivator frame

Fowler cultivator frame, with set of three spike harrows, for cable ploughing, by John Fowler & Co. of Leeds, c. 1880, with Ackerman type steering at either end. Used for carrying cultivation tools such as rollers, clod crushers etc. Later versions carried combinations of tools for 'one-pass' seed bed preparation; a system which has become popular again in the 1980's.
