Depicts an AL1 class (later known as Class 81) locomotive with a passenger train in the newly rebuilt Stafford station. An electric multiple unit is waiting at an adjacent platform. In the foreground are passengers and a trolley serving food. The scene is framed by the overhead gantry supporting the electric catenary wires. In the background is the new station, completed in 'Brutalist' concrete. Signed by the artist at bottom left. Framed.
