Engraving, 'Chevalier Humguffier and the Marquis de Gull making an excursion to the Moon in their new Aerial vehicle', 1784. 17x19cm. Satire on 1780s balloonomania. The gondola airship has as a balloon, a disc with moons and stars. A manuscript edit has been made to the title changing Humguffier to 'Momguffier' making the allusion more directly to the Montgolfier brothers.
