HD Nikon R7 x 12A HD lens, Serial No 300032. Part of Sony High Definition Video System camera chain, 1988. Fitted to Sony HDVS camera 1997-5291/1.

In the 1980s, the Japanese broadcaster NHK introduced the world's first HD television system and it was used to broadcast the 1984 Olympics. The experiments didn't last long but NHK and Sony are still HD sports broadcasting pioneers.
