Motor Impairment Test, developed by DH Scott, FA Moyes and SE Henderson, 1972, from the Oseretsky Test (c.1946); used to detect impairment of motor function in children aged 5-13; consisting of rope, mallet, paper mazes, playing cards, etc., record blank and manual (incomplete); used at the Institute of Education, University of Liverpool, c.1960-1990.

This Motor Impairment Test uses ‘toys’ such as rope, a mallet, paper mazes and playing cards. These detect impairment of motor function in children aged five to 13. This is done through physical tests involving skills such as running and balancing. It was developed by D. H. Scott, F. A. Moyes and S. E. Henderson in 1972. They developed it from the Oseretsky Test. This was created in the 1940s to assess childhood writing disorders. The Motor Impairment Test was used at the Institute of Education, University of Liverpool, between 1960 and 1990.
