Brass sextant stand with lacquered brass column, three folding feet (without box), unsigned, by an unknown English maker, 1845-1855. The counterbalanced swinging mount can be locked into the desired position by a milled screw. The height of the column can be adjusted, as can the length of the arm bearing the counter weight.
