Brass Standard half Bushel volume measure for the United States of America. Based on the adopted English Winchester standard for dry goods which was superseded in Britain by Imperial Measure in 1826. One of a set of measures presented by the Federal Government to the Standards Department of the British Board of Trade in 1842.

Brass half-bushel standard measure supplied by the United States Federal Government to the Standards Department of the British Board of Trade in 1842. It is based on the English Winchester standard for dry goods, which was superseded in Britain by the Imperial Measure in 1826.
