Printed circuit boards and components from the Orion I Computer, manufactured by Ferranti Ltd. c. 1962, including:- 4 pcb's from the Diode Matrix Address for the Drum, 2 pcb's from Drum Read Amplifier 1 Control Logic pcb (see file 1007/74/24 + Inv. No.1981-1801). Printed circuit boards (PCBs) had originally been used for military applications, and were introduced during World War II. The Orion, made by Ferranti, was the successor to both the Perseus and the Mercury computers.
