Weight 31.01g. obverse: muse with laurel wreath beside plinth l. with wreaths and profile of Benjamin Franklin; legend: Howard N. Potts Medal for distinguished work in science or the mechanic arts. reverse legend: Awarded by the Franklin Institute to George Paget Thomson for diffraction of electrons by thin films 1932
