44 8" x 6" prints by Cyril Newberry. 32 depict ARP lighting at various railway locations including Sudbury marshalling yard, Willesden no. 1 signal box, St. Pancras station, Euston station, Camden, Cricklewood mainly during 1944; 4 photographs of a bridge under construction, one of which Mr. Newberry entered in the "News Chronicle" Pictures at Work contest under the title "The Bridge-Builders," 1 photograph of the recovery of an unidentified locomotive following a derailment; 2 photographs of LMS 8F 2-8-0 no. 8490; 2 photographs of the LMS Scientific Research building at Derby under construction - it opened in 1935. Several of the ARP lighting prints are dated and captioned, but none of the others are. Photographer was Cyril Newberry FRPS of the LMS Research Department, Derby.
