Sample Perspex window used by Ian Gilchrist in researching high pressure windows for Benthic pressure trap. Conical window in a lubricated mount which has been pressurised once to 172 MPa. A fracture has taken place, by cleavage across a semi spherical surface close to the low pressure face. A transition in the form of a fracture takes place at pressures around 210 MPa.
