The Luzo camera no. 17328. Box camera for rollfilm 3 1/2 inches wide, 4x3 inches. Fixed aperture rapid rectilinear lens. External sector shutter, three spring positions. Brilliant reflecting finder. Red window with pivoted cover. Patent no 1125. In leather ever-ready case. C1896. Overall: 112 mm x 166 mm x 125 mm.

The Luzo was advertised as a hand or detective camera. It was the first English roll film camera, and was also the first to have the film spools placed either side of the lens - an arrangement that was later used in most box cameras.

The camera was first designed by H J Redding and sold by J Robinson & Son. Redding left Robinson and with E T Gyles formed Redding and Gyles, who manufactured and sold the camera from 1896.
