Colour landscape poster, 'Sex hasn't changed much over the years. Fortunately condoms have', illustrated with images of four historic condoms, and information about HIV and AIDS, produced by the Health Education Authority, England as part of the December 1991 to February 1992 campaign ‘Personal Testimony – Phase 3’

Condoms have been used since the 1600s. They are one of the most popular and easily available contraceptives. This poster displays four historic condoms with the slogan: 'Sex hasn't changed much over the years. Fortunately condoms have'. Produced by the Health Education Authority between 1988 and 1993, the poster outlines cures for sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis and gonorrhoea. It adds: ‘Nowadays of course, we have to protect ourselves from HIV’. The Health Education Authority aimed to combat the spread of the disease by stressing condoms were safer and more sensitive than ever before. The poster referred to the fabled 1700s Italian Giacomo Casanova by saying: ‘So if the world’s greatest lover made do with a sheep gut, surely you can use a condom’.
