A molecular model structure factor projection tabl
A molecular model structure factor projection table with accompanying parts, believed to have been made by Eric Nave and Vic Halliwell (Kathleen Lonsdale's instrument maker), based on Olga Kennard's concept. A pre-computer aid used to project diffraction pattern for fine tuning crystal structure. Comprised of a table with a removable unfixed wood top with clear glass top underneath. The table would be used with two lights, one on the bottom and one screwed onto the side (see screw holes). The wooden sticks would be placed underneath the table to create a platform for the crystal, underneath the table. The wood top of the table would be removed and tracing paper placed on top so that the crystals’ shadow could be traced. Used with spot light, inventory number 1993-421/1.
