One in a series of hand-painted magic lantern slides entitled 'The Elephant's Revenge', made by Newton and Company in 1870. The series tells the story of what happens when a man taunts an elephant. This is the tenth slide in the series, showing the elephant carrying a man dripping water with its trunk.
