'Humpty Dumpty Novelty Animal Shaped Interlocking Jigsaw', approximately 50 pieces, artist Mavis Miller, complete, made in England

‘My name means the shape I am - and a good handsome shape it is too. With a name like yours, you might be any shape almost.’ Humpty Dumpty said this to Alice in Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass. This novelty animal-shaped jigsaw puzzle has approximately 50 pieces. It was illustrated by artist Mavis Miller. It was among a range of aids, many ‘homemade’, used to teach psychology to students at Bedford College during the first half of the 20th century.
