First prototype of confocal laser scanning microscope, designed and made by Dr. Brad Amos at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, British, 1985-1986. Comprises laser unit, microscope, base and adjustable stand. This prototype was capable of scanning speeds in excess of 4000 lines per second.
