Lithograph, view of the London and Birmingham Railway when in course of construction by J. C. Bourne, published 1839. ‘Oblique Bridge, Boxmoor’. Foreground contains four cows to the left of a steep embankment, a road running through the bridge of an arch and a steep embankment to the right covered with trees and shrubs. The bridge in the middle ground reaches from one side of the embankment to the other and provides an archway under which a man walking his dog and a carriage about to enter can be seen. In the distance through the archway a small settlement of houses among trees and fields is just visible.
