Locomotive worksplate for 'No 1046 Gorton 1952'. This was a Class 76/ EM1 locomotive, and 1046 was the manufacturer's works number. The loco was numbered '26039' in British Railway service, and later gained the TOPS number '76039'. It was renumbered

'76048' in October, 1976, before being withdrawn in February, 1977, and scrapped in February, 1984.
