'Lucky Jim' toy cat mascot, formerly owned by Jack Alcock and with him during the first non-stop transatlantic flight in 1919.

Jack Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown became the first people to fly non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean on 14th and 15th June 1919. They carried a number of lucky charms in the aircraft with them, including Lucky Jim. Lucky Jim was the mascot owned by Alcock and was accompanied by Twinkletoes, Brown's black cat mascot who is now at the RAF Museum. The aviators also carried lucky white heather with them and a horseshoe was screwed underneath the pilot's seat.
