Head from the Ryan Giggs character puppet from the short animation film Doppelganger, by Passion Pictures, released in 1997.

The short animation film ‘Doppleganger’ is anarchic, witty, and outlandishly dark. In the hilariously twisted film, the then Manchester United star football player Ryan Giggs, signs for arch-rivals Manchester City just before the Cup game, while under the control of crooked City boss Reggie Backhander. The opening moments set the scene with animated footballer and television personality Jimmy Hill announcing that Ryan Giggs, “footballs’ goodie-two-boots", has turned “from soccer god to silly sod overnight”.

When the film was released Giggs was playing for premier league football club Manchester United. He had advertising contacts with various worldwide brands, including Reebok. He made his professional debut for the club in 1991 and spent the next 23 years in the first team. This film is an unconventional portrayal of Ryan Giggs.
