Stand for Strowger pre-2000 type group selector, unknown maker, England, 1920-1926.
The various early designs and makes of Strowger or step-by-step selector used by the British Post Office were superseded in the 1930s by a standard design known as the '2000-type'. All previous versions became known as 'pre-2000'. This is a group selector, used for the early stages of a dialled call.
