Photograph entitled 'My Niece Julia Jackson Now Mrs Herbert Duckworth' taken by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1867. Albumen contact print from wet collodion negative. This photographic portrait of Julia Jackson (1846-1895 ) forms part of the Herschel Album, created by Cameron for her friend Sir John Herschel (1792-1871). Julia Jackson married the barrister Herbert Duckworth who died in 1870. She then married Sir Leslie Stephen, the editor of The Dictionary of National Biography. They had four children, including artist Vanessa Bell and author Virginia Woolf.
