Black and White photograph, depicting a crowd marching to the Abyssinian Legation, taken by John Phillips. The banner in the photograph reads “Greetings to the heroic fight for Abyssinian independence. We pledge our friendship and support against fascist aggression.” The caption on the reverse reads “London Supports Abysinnia: Nearly 2000 Londoners marched to the Abyssinian Legation on Saturday, where they presented an address promising the support and sympathy of the English people to Abyssinia her war of independence. Amongst those who signed the address were the names of Sylvia Pankhurst, Harry Pollitt and Lascelles Abercrombie.”
