Berliner Maschinenbau-Aktien Gesellschaft vormals L. Schwartzkopff 1852 - 1966

Prior to producing steam locomotives the engineering company manufactured turntables, water systems and turnouts for various railway companies. It began to construct steam locomotives from 1867 onwards and in 1899 also manufactured Linotype Machines for the Merganthaler factory in Berlin.

In 1945 the company ceased to manufacture locomotives and turned to producing caste iron components for Linotype machines as well as for glass blowing machines too.
