1907-1951 - Lord Mayor Treloar Cripples Hospital and College. Funded by Sir William Purdie Treloar hospital for treatment of children suffering from TB, and training for crippled boys 14 - 18 in skilled handicraft. 1948 - transferred to NHS. 1951-1996 - The Lord Mayor Treloar Orthopaedic Hospital. The Treloar Foundation continues (2008) and currently describes its aims to 'Prepare students for adult life'.
