1950s - Dr. Paul Nogier describes Ear Acupuncture to colleagues in Lyon, France. Nogier had observed that Mme. Barrin, a local healer in Marseille, was treating sciatica by cauterizing an area of the ear. This suggested to him that he could map between points on the ear and the rest of the body.
