Lander studied at Hammersmith School of Art. Painted in gouache and watercolour; at Ralph Mott Studio, he became chief designer and studio manager between 1930-1939; worked for Government Ministries, British Transport Commission and the Post Office and produced posters for GWR, BR (LM), LNER & BR.
