1889 - founded by J. Heinrich Dräger and Carl Adolf Gerling as Drägerwerk AG, as Dräger & Gerling. This was in Lübeck, Germanay. Company's specialism is breathing and protection equipment as well as gas detection and analysis systems. 1902 - Heinrich's son, Bernhard, joined the company and it became known as Drägerwerk Heinr. und Bernh. Dräger. 1950 - onwards the company becomes multi-national.
