Clothes for the Job exhibition 1984 - These suits are worn in situations where toxic vapours may be present, such as repair wok in chemical installations. The material of this example is impervious to all forms of chloride, weak acids, ammonia and all alkalis. It is very easy to put on and there is a gas-tight zip running from the knee to the middle of the hood. The wrists of the suit have gas-tight air locks. The compressed air breathing apparatus preserved with the suit produces a positive pressure in the face mask. This prevents any inward leakage of outside gas into the mask. The suit can be ventilated by air from the breathing apparatus; this decreases the risk of inward leakage of gas as well as prolonging the time during which the wearer can work in comfort.
