Obverse legend, Jose. et. Etien. Montgolfier pour avoir rendu l'air navigable; scene, double low relief portrait, profile heads to left, natural hair; artist signed at base, N. Gatteaux. Reverse legend: Experience du Champ de Mars 27 Aoust 1783. En vertu d'une souscription sous la direct de M.
