Clear glass specimen jar with glass domed cap sealed to the jar and small paper label. To contain apporximately 10 ounces of narcotine, an alkaloid obtained from opium. It has a midly depressant action upon the cerebral hemispheres. Its effect is to that of morphine on the sensory cells but is much less marked. Like papaverine it relaxes the tone of plain muscle.
