Model of proposed supersonic transport, to fly at Mach 1.6 in the troposphere, using Lock-Bagley wing. Sometimes known as Project Saturn.
This is a model of a supersonic aircraft. It was used during the early 1960s when the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough investigated the possibility of a supersonic aircraft designed to fly at Mach 1.6 in the troposphere. This used the Lock-Bagley wing, a swept wing with a scimitar-like leading edge. This is a simple 'desk top' model of the concept aircraft, made of polished aluminium alloy.
