Painting, gouache on board, Harwich, Hook of Holland, Day and Night Services, by Pieter Huveneers, about 1951. Depicts a stylised representation of a North Sea ferry, seen in outline, head on. The poster is divided into light and dark blue halves, with yellow and white highlights. The flags of the Netherlands, West Germany and Denmark emerge from the ship's funnel. Text runs across the bow and beneath the bow wave. At top right is the British Railways 'totem' logo. Original artwork for British Railways (Eastern Region) double royal sized poster.
