Painting, poster paint on paper, Visit the Ancient City of Lincoln, by Allanson Hick, about 1950. Depicts a map of Lincoln, with annotated illustrations of places of interest and historic events. These include the railway station, industry, the Usher Art Gallery, cathedral, a public execution, Pottergate Bar, pageanty and a stereotypical view of the Jewish financier "Aaron the moneylender on Steep Hill". At the top are the coats of arms of the City of Lincoln, Robert Grosseteste, Hugh of Avalon, Edward King and Robert Sanderson. Original artwork for Railway Executive (Eastern Region) poster. Surrounded by a decorative border. Unframed.
