Marquetry panel, York (Lendal Bridge) Military Sunday by W E Twinham after a North Eastern Railway poster by Fred Taylor, October 1923. Panel in inlaid coloured woods depicting a military parade crossing Lendal Bridge in York, with the city walls and York Minster in the background, and the River Ouse below. There is an army officer on horseback and an artillery piece and gun carriage, with spectators walking on the pavement alongside. Signed in pencil at bottom right, "York (Lendal Bridge) Military Sunday, W.E. Twinham, Oct. 1923." On the reverse is the inscription "York Military Sunday, W. E. Twinham, Oct. 1923." There are the remains of a British Transport Commission label at top right, but the inventory number has been erased. Framed and glazed.
