Poster, Southern Railway, South for Winter Sunshine, by Edmond Vaughan, 1929. Coloured lithograph depicting a Southern Railway steam locomotive with a passenger train, moving upwards diagonally across the centre of the design. The design is divided into triangular and rhomboid coloured shapes, with irregularly positioned lettering reading "South for winter sunshine, SR". The 'embankment' on which the train is running is formed by these shapes, and there is a 'sunburst' in yellow above the locomotive. Format double royal. Text in the bottom margin reads "Southern Railway Advertising. AD 1072 2000/1929. Sanders Phillips & Co. Ltd., The Baynard Press, Chryssell Road, S.W.9"
