Poster, London Midland & Scottish Railway, "The Permanent Way, Relaying by Stanhope Forbes R.A.", after 1924. Coloured lithograph depicting a track-laying gang at work under the supervision of a foreman, as a lookout keeps watch and a train approaches in the background. One of a series of sixteen posters by members of the Royal Academy commissioned by the London, Midland & Scottish Railway in 1924. Probably a later edition as the font is sans serif, unlike the rest of the series and the border is missing from around the text at the bottom. Format: quad royal. Other ids: ERO 53351.
